Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) honours were awarded to the Southern Cross University family as part of the 2017 Queen’s Birthday list.

Allan Stewart received an OAM for service to dentistry, and to the community of the Mid North Coast. Back in 2012, at the age of 97, Allan was the Guinness World Record Holder for the ‘Oldest Graduate’ when he was awarded a Master of Clinical Science (Complimentary Medicine) from Southern Cross University.

Former Lismore mayor – and Honorary Doctor of the University – Jenny Dowell was awarded an OAM for service to local government and to the community of Lismore.

Congratulations to both Allan and Jenny.
